How We Stay Safe

How We Stay Safe

When we visit a theme park such as Drayton Manor or Alton Towers we have a designated meet spot.

The designated meet point is manned by a member of TTS every second of every hour on every single theme park trip. Absolutely no exceptions. ⁣⁣

It’s purpose is to provide children a safe place to return to in the event that they lose their friends or need help/support from TTS staff or have questions. ⁣⁣

What the designated meet point is actually used for (you might be surprised):⁣⁣

  • Lunch breaks
  • ⁣Sharing stories about the day: who’s been on which ride, which was the scariest, who overcame which fear etc.⁣
  • Storing the bags we suggested children left on the coach
  • A safe place to leave the remaining doughnuts that children would enjoy later in the day. (They’re lucky they survived )
  • Storing one bag that was rather heavy and absolutely full of snacks (mentioning no name
  • Hoarding items collected/purchased as souvenirs throughout the day, including, but not limited to: 1 x Pikachu, 1 x Charmander, 3 x posters, more snacks than we could count.
  • Dumping very wet clothes after riding the water rides.⁣

The designated meeting point did its job – and more – and we wouldn’t change it for the world.

May the children continue to find a safe haven at the meet point for any and all of their needs. ⁣⁣As you can probably imagine there were a couple of moments where children separated in the excitement of the day, but they didn’t spend long at the meet point at all. ⁣⁣The children had each other’s backs, it was minutes before a phone call was made between the children without any need for the TTS team to intervene. It was minutes before they were reunited again.
