Rock Climbing & Abseiling for May Half-Term 2021

During the July Half-Term in 2021, we took 7 adventurous children out to Grinshill where they had a 2-day workshop learning how to Rock Climb and Abseil with our expert team.

Despite a couple of rainy weeks leading up to the event, we were lucky enough to land sunshine for the full 2 days. If you can remember those rainy weeks leading up to the half-term you’ll remember that it was much needed.

The children had a fabulous time!

Rock Climbing and Abseiling is a fantastic activity for our young children. It’s outdoors, it’s challenging, it builds confidence and it gets them back out with their friends. It’s great fun too! What’s not to love?

After a lot of screen time this past year we love to provide activities that get the children back out and about – and back to something that’s a bit closer to ‘normal’.

Isla is going on a school outward bounds trip and was adamant she was too scared to do rock climbing. However, when TTS changed paddleboarding to rock climbing she agreed to go and, although she approached it with some trepidation, with the help of the instructors and TTS she managed to both climb and abseil the rock face.

While she still wasn’t as confident as some of the others, for her, this was a huge step and when asked now whether she wants to rock climb on her school trip, simply answers ‘yes, of course!’

Just to say a huge thank you for the last two days of climbing, Ella loved it and can’t wait to fo more!! Your friendliness and the attitude of your staff & Instructors was just brilliant!
